These records were created and maintained originally by the Securities Division within the Federal Trade Commission from about 1933 until September 1, 1934. From September 1, 1934 until October 13, 1934, Securities and Exchange Commission handled these records. On October 13, 1934, the Docket, Mail and Files Section in the Administrative Division of the Securities and Exchange Commission was created and through it, and its successors, took control of these records and maintained them until the end of the series.
